PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program represents the entry qualification for all aspiring aromatherapists. It covers the principles and application of aromatherapy as well as the underlying science. You will learn the chemistry and pharmacology of essential oils, their actions, indications and contra-indications, aromatherapy massage, as well as anatomy and physiology.

Aromatherapy involves the holistic use of pure essential oils, extracted from a wide range of plants for wellbeing and in the treatment of diseases. Essential oils have distinct properties and functions and can profoundly affect the body. Aroma therapists are trained in the use and application of these essential oils.

Assessment methods

Candidates are continuously and comprehensively assessed through a range of methods from written assignments or examinations to practical demonstrations. You will be assessed against each unit of competency within the program. Demonstrating competency in completing key tasks and activities is a key element of the program.
